The sour mystery

What could it be? What could the mysterious thing be that was sitting in front of me. Could it be a orange or an apple no one knew. I thought I was about to die of suspense.

It smelt fruity. I thought it was a fruit burst but then the bitterness hit me. Seriously what could it be? But those weren't the only two senses I could smell it also smells sour as well. I was so confused

I felt it. The first thing that popped into my head was “Ew” it felt so slimy and squishy . I could feel hard pips in it then I thought it could be a kiwifruit.

I took a bite. “Yum” was the first thing I said. The sourness was so delicious I loved it. The juice squirted all onto the paper towel in front of me.  The only yucky taste was all the tiny little pips that I accidently ate. The pips tasted as gross and hard as sand that you just took out of a sandpit.

I could hear everyone saying “ewww that’s yucky”, everyone was spitting out the food . I was the opposite I said “yumm that's  delicious”. I ate the whole thing.

When I took my blindfold off I saw the skin of a lemon sitting in front of me. I had just eaten a lemon and I loved it.

Real Life Superheros- Kerri Strug

This term for inquiry we have been researching real life superheroes. My real life superhero was Kerri Strug and she is an Olympic gymnast. I picked her because she broke her ankle on vault but she still did another vault to win gold for her team. We also had to come up with three burning questions about our person and we had to answer them. In the end I found out a lot more about Kerri Strug and I really enjoyed presenting it to everyone.

Metaphor poems

In our classroom we have been learning how to write metaphors. We wrote our own metaphors and then created a metaphor poem about ourselves.

We wrote metaphors about ourselves and sent them to Kawerau South School near Rotorua.

For our own metaphor poem we had to describe ourselves as a tree, a lolly, a vehicle, a sandwich, something in our community and a piece of clothing.

It was a really fun activity.

My favourite thing about school

One of my favourite things to do at school is go swimming!
I love going swimming because we get to do relays.
I also like it because I get to have my own group.
In my group we do dives and tumble turns.
I have been taking the confident swimmers as well.
This photo is of Luca, Madison and I doing a dive together.
I hope we get to keep doing swimming at school. I also want to be able to do more with my group.
